Today we played with Eddie the Elephant, a Lamaze toy. Ethan loved hearing all the music coming from this cute elephant, but he wasn't able to push the buttons himself yet. He definitely found ways of letting me know that he wanted it to keep playing music though!
Today we went to our first Monkey Music class. It was lots of fun and Ethan was completely transfixed. It was nice because he could stay in my lap the whole time so he didn't cry at all. We sang songs, danced and played instruments. A great class.
Today we put Ethan in his Bumbo chair for the first time. He was a bit unsteady and I didn't keep him in for long, but hopefully it will help him to learn to sit and it will enable us to play in different ways before he learns to sit on his own. We also got the tray, which we'll be able to use for feeding him when he's a bit older.
Today I took Ethan to his first Gymboree class! They offered a free trial, but I absolutely loved it, so I definitely think we'll sign up for weekly classes. Ethan was a bit unsure of it all and needed lots of cuddles and encouragement, but they had lots of fun toys, games and bubbles at the end! As a teacher I especially loved that they connected everything to all the skills and development of the children.
Ethan is loving his Sophie The Giraffe! He has started teething, so it's definitely a useful toy for him. It's great in so many ways, the texture, the squeak and the unique shape for a teething toy. I would definitely recommend it for all babies.
Merry Christmas! We've had a fantastic day opening presents, taking lots of photos and celebrating together. Ethan is only 2 months old so he had no idea what was going on, but he seemed very happy looking at all of the bits of colourful paper flying around!
It's another one of those special days that we will remember forever, and the start of family traditions that we will continue for years to come.
