Today we put Ethan in his Bumbo chair for the first time. He was a bit unsteady and I didn't keep him in for long, but hopefully it will help him to learn to sit and it will enable us to play in different ways before he learns to sit on his own. We also got the tray, which we'll be able to use for feeding him when he's a bit older.
Today I took Ethan to his first Gymboree class! They offered a free trial, but I absolutely loved it, so I definitely think we'll sign up for weekly classes. Ethan was a bit unsure of it all and needed lots of cuddles and encouragement, but they had lots of fun toys, games and bubbles at the end! As a teacher I especially loved that they connected everything to all the skills and development of the children.
Ethan is loving his Sophie The Giraffe! He has started teething, so it's definitely a useful toy for him. It's great in so many ways, the texture, the squeak and the unique shape for a teething toy. I would definitely recommend it for all babies.
Merry Christmas! We've had a fantastic day opening presents, taking lots of photos and celebrating together. Ethan is only 2 months old so he had no idea what was going on, but he seemed very happy looking at all of the bits of colourful paper flying around!

Ethan does not like having his nappy / diaper changed. He cries and cries and it's so terrible to see him so sad. Today I started telling him stories while I change him. It seemed like the perfect way to distract him.
I told him the story of The Three Little Pigs one time and Goldilocks another time. Just simple stories that I can recite while not thinking about it. It really seemed to work, he focused on my voice and stopped crying. I'm so happy that he's happier being changed now!

Ethan got a mirror as a gift, and he loves it! We put it on the play mat beside him and he turns his head to look at his refection in the mirror and even smiles at himself :)
